Dataset utilising our GIS information to depict the potential suitability of a property adopting new Low Carbon Technology (LCT)

This initial assessment tool assesses how a property meets with a series of 'LCT Checkers', which will indicate its potential suitability for future LCT installation. Every property is checked against the following criteria:

Whether or not the existing Service Cable is Looped?
Installation values of the recorded Service Cable?
The size of the existing Service Cable?
If the recorded Service Cable is overhead or not?

The results of the various LCT Checkers form the LCT Assessment category, which summarises all the LCT checker findings. If no issues are identified then the property pre-approved to 'Connect and Notify' installations of domestic low carbon technologies. If issues are identified, our teams need to do more investigation and we may need to upgrade the network, before low carbon technologies can be connected, but this is free of charge is most cases. All results are based on the information held in our GIS system. whilst we appreciate not every scenario is entirely 'black or white', this is a good, early indication of current suitability.
